MTV Roadies Rock
Posted On Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at at 23:45 by Sonika RajkumariBeing only a contestant of MTV Roadies is enough, perhaps a lucrative deal in itself. Because the audience watch deeply and interestingly and get involved with all the fun elements.
Can you name all the contestants of Indian Idol or remember them except Abhijit Sawant, Prashant Tamang, Amit Paul and some few who were the winners.
I think you have forgotten the other contestants of the other reality shows like Indian Idol.
It is not the case with Roadies, we all remember Stuti, Shubhi, Parul, Krissh from Roadies 3. How can we forget Vishal, Bani, Reshabh,Poonam, Anthony, Raj, Rupali, Sonam of previous Roadies 4.
It seems MTV Roadies tries to keep the most controversial and famous characters to stay in the show. In the previous Roadies, it was Bani, the most hated person, who had stolen all the limelight from other contestants. Being hated by all, she remained in the show till the end. It doesn't matter she didn't win but Anthony won.

If you remember, there are two Roadies that we have seen so far in the big screen. Say who? Its Shubhi, she was in 'Chak De India' as Gunjan Lakhani and Bani (Gurbani) in Aap Ka Saroor, debut movie of Himesh Reshamiya. Now, let's see who is the next?
Till then we all fans of Roadies should watch the game, politics, cat fights and the lovely contestants of the reality show - MTV Roadies 5.0.
Hot n Sexy Rakhi Sawant "back" is back
Posted On Thursday, December 13, 2007 at at 02:48 by rk rishikesh sinhaShe is oomph of many, and for some the most funniest celebrity ever visible in the Indian film industry. Yes, she is Rakhi Sawant of bollywood, more so of the tinsel world of television in the recent times. She was visible today again on “Breaking News” item of a television news channel. Reason. Wardrobe malfunction.
The news channel ran the so called wardrobe malfunction news item repeatedly in the prime time. I was laughing on the news channel of running this item. There were, obviously, many reasons for which I was laughing and amusing myself on the often repeated bare back footage of Rakhi Sawant.
First, the program in which sexy Rakhi Sawant along with her boyfriend were dancing was not the LIVE show, so there was no point showing the item in the prime time. The program that we all have watched comes after it had gone under the scissor of a video editor. So, there was no point in showing a program[news]of the edited program. How a program which has been edited can become the news? Only God, and of course, the director of the show knows and has the answer.
Secondly, the show in which the hot and sexy Rakhi Sawant was performing, after the wardrobe malfunction it could have been shoot again. But it was not done! She completed the song as it should have been done. The director of the show did not stop the camera rolling. Obviously, the director wanted the cheap media mileage by trampling upon the respect of a media savvy Rakhi Sawant.
Whatever may be the reason, whether it was pre-meditated, planned act to get media space or it was really a news to their standard, the only fact coming crystal clear was that the news was indeed of bad taste. At the end I could say Rakhi Sawant is the female “Shah Rukh Khan” among the actresses in bollywood.
Zubeen Garg went missing in the Jjhoom India
Posted On Saturday, November 03, 2007 at at 01:44 by rk rishikesh sinha
Though he didn't fair well in the opening show of the programme and had to listen unpleasant things from the judges especially from the ace director and producer Mahesh Bhatt, his absence in the show make us all believe that he is irresponsible not only to the show but to his devoted fan following. He was not there when his team was given a thumping victory for getting the required votes to go for the next round. It is of his large pool of fan factor that made him immune from the elimination round.
He is the pride of Assam and of the north east. Whatever happens with him in the show, it indeed casts its effects on the people of this region. What came as disappointing in the show was that his partner Shama Sikander didn't defend him; moreover she said in front of the camera that he [Zubeen Garg] was not present in the rehearsal, and is still not even present in the show. Don't you think such statement against him in front of the whole nation effects his image? It does effect.
By showing his absense he showed his un-participatory nature to the whole television viewers who were glued to their television set to watch him, and his performance.

Amanat Ali : a Zee Sa Re Ga Ma Pa contestent rocks India
Posted On Friday, October 12, 2007 at at 12:12 by rk rishikesh sinhaHe is Amanat Ali, a contestant of the Zee Sa Re Ga Ma Pa musical show, who with his song Tujhase Naaraaz Nahi Zindagi (available in esnips.com)from the movie Masoom not only brought tears in the eyes of the all the judges and guest stars present there in the show, but in the eyes of all television viewers. His soulful song absolutely mesmerized everybody.
No doubt, all the singers in the last leg of the show - Aneek Dhar, Amanat Ali, and Raja Hasan are best of the best and carry a mass fan following. All about Amanat Ali is totally different and unique. Not to forget Tushar Sinha was also in the competition.
His last song in the show Tujhase Naaraaz Nahi Zindagi came as a break in the flow of the show. It had a drifting effect. The colour of the show totally changed after he sang the song. One can say he infused life in the song. It is a different story the song itself is heart touching and it relates to everyone's life, but singing the song maintaining the credibility is not everyone's cup of tea. Singer like Mika tried the song taking the opportune time in the show, but he miserably failed to mesmerize the audience, not only of the viewers but also of the whole team of Das Kahanaiyan movie.
Amanat, a ardent fan of Shah Rukh Khan, cried while he was singing the song. And it was felt by all the viewers sitting in front of the their TV set. The finishing touch he gave to the end leg of the show cannot be better than the way he finished. Music doesn't have any boundary, and Amanat Ali from Pakistan has proved the same. When he sings people forget the tag of nationality he carries. People just forget everything. Now when the programme has entered into the declaration of the winner. It doesn't matter who wins in the musical show, whether the title holder is from India or from the other side of the fence. They all are talented in their singing trait.
Lyrics of Tujhase Naaraaz Nahi Zindagi [courtesy yash.wordpress.com]
tujhase naaraaz nahi zindagi, hairaan hoon main
o hairaan hoon main
tere masoom savalon se pareshaan hooN main
o pareshaan hoon main
jeene ke liye socha hi na tha, dard sambhalane honge
muskuraoon to, muskurane ke karz utaarne honge
muskuraoon kabhi to lagata hai
jaise hontonn pe karz rakhaa hai
tujhase …
aaj agar bhar ayi hai, boondein baras jaayengi
kal kya pata inke liye aakhen taras jayengi
jaane kahan gum kahan khoya
ek aansu chhupake rakha tha
tujhase …
zindagi tere gum ne hamain rishte naye samajhaye
mile jo hamain dhoop main mile chhaanv ke thande saaye
o tujhase …

Amit Paul and Prashant Tamang : The Political Prawns
Posted On Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at at 12:55 by rk rishikesh sinhaNEW DELHI,INDIAThe Indian Idol III would be remembered for some special reason – it has been politicized entertainingly. Political leader do take the mass appeal of actors and actress for their political gains. But it has been first time witnessed that the most powerful persons of India UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh meeting with the contestants and showing their interest towards a purely entertainment programme Indian Idol.
Since the first day of it’s beginning, Indian Idol has been inviting artists as guests from Indian film industry, Bollywood. Explicitly, it is a not a new phenomenon that has been added in the show. However, in recent times it has become the best marketing tool to promote any programme. What could be the possible arithmetics done on the part of media advisers of Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh that led them to appear for the photo shoot with the contestants of the Indian Idol? Answer to this can be simple and straight as a stick; and may be very complex with multiple rings of political cobwebs. It is very tough to answer.
One thing is sure, the media advisers of both the two political bigwigs Sonia and Manmohan did honest political manthan, atma manthan (introspection) before suggesting them to appear with Amit and Prashant, the two last finalists of the show.
If one sees from the other perspective of the show, that is, from the promoter and the marketing team fence, the appearance of Sonia and Manmohan Singh came as a winning situation.
The primary reasons that prompted Sonia and Manmohan Singh to align towards the participants may be counted on the popularity of the contestants Amit and Prashant in their respective regions or say on the creed they belongs to. Amit Paul is a bengali and Prashant is a Nepali. Associating them might help the grand old party Congress to score it in the vote bank politics. Moreover, it may give the party to sneak and penetrate into the mass fans of the two. Now, when mid-term poll is looming large over the nation, and where no party wants an isolation from the youth; a rapport build – up with the contestants might help in the long run or in the short run.
It is not that every act on the part of the politicians should be scanned and given a political twists and turns. They being the powerful persons of a country it becomes their responsibility to encourage the youths who are talented and enthusing them to excel in their respective fields.
Prashant Tamang : The new Indian Idol
Posted On Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at at 12:43 by rk rishikesh sinhaNew DelhiIn every game there is a winner and a loser. So is the case in the Indian Idol musical extravagant show where two titans Amit Paul and Prashant Tamang fought for the crown. And after stiff competition between the fans of the two, at last the Darjeeling boy clinched victory and won the Indian Idol title.
Prashant Tamang is the third Indian Idol who was coveted with the title. The first Indian Idol was Abhijeet Sawant. It is reported that in the history of Indian reality television the volume of the total votes that the Indian Idol III procured is a record in itself. According to the reports, 7 crore votes it garnered, which comes as an eye-opener about the popularity of the show and the mass appeal of the final contestants.
Now when the Indian Idol III has come to its end. The show will be remembered for its outstanding performances of the contestants. All the contestants were at par against each other. They were from different background and regions of India. If there was Amit Paul from Shillong, there was Prashant Tamang from Darjeeling; and not to mention Emon from Kolkata, Ankita Mishra from Kanpur, Meiyang Chang from Dhanbad, Parleen Singh Gill from Jammu.
Those who were closely watching the show from the beginning knows it was unexpected that Prashant would reach to this stage and will steal the show. Prashant's path to success isn't simple as it seems. It is very unnatural a policeman would try for a competition. But he tried and went through all the tests that all participants underwent.
The West Bengal Police Department must be appreciated that they allowed him to participate in this musical extravaganza. Now,when he has brought glory to the police force and West Bengal police in particular, the personnel employed in the forces might think of their unexplored and latent talent.
It is worth mentioning, the runner up of the show Amit Paul was not lesser talented than Prashant Tamang. He has got everything that a contestants wants; moreover he was bestowed more than that. He swayed the whole nation by his singing talent. But in the game of electronic SMS votes and call, all that matter is the volume.
Now when the game is over, here comes the testing times of both the singers Amit Paul and Prashant Tamang to prove their mettle that also in the real world where there is no winners and runner-ups. Let us hope they will be able to make a space in the musical world of India.
Who will be the next Indian Idol III?
Posted On Thursday, September 20, 2007 at at 09:36 by rk rishikesh sinhaNEW DELHI,INDIATop 2 finalists of the Indian Idol III, Amit Paul and Prashant Tamang are now face to face in the run to win the title. Between the two of them, one is our next Indian Idol and the other is the runner-up. But no body knows who will be the Indian Idol and the other a runner – up.
Hopefully, for two of them this is their golden period, they have left behind Emon, Mayang Chang, Ankita, Parleen, Charu and many innumerable contestants.
From the beginning of the show it was unexpected; Prashant will reach to this stage of the show. Being the avid Indian Idol fan, I can realize and imagine how the Nepalis from different part of the world and West Bengal police department in particular, would be feeling; they would be feeling proud with the success Prashant was bestowed upon.
But, the success that Prashant is showed upon was not planned and achieved in a day. He has struggled a lot during the whole period of the show. Sometimes he got demoralized and criticized facing tough competitions from Emon, Amit and Chang. And it was all live. The whole nation has witnessed when judges were giving honeyed comments to almost all the contestants, and he was left out.
Though he was giving his best shot in his singing capability and judges claps in his performance; and whatever you would like to call this – God Grace or Public Grace. Fortunately, he has never being in the bottom. Now, he is going forward to make his community and police department proud.
What is to say about the shillong boy Amit Paul, I think he was the only easy-going contestant who has never been criticized and demoralized by the judges. Remember, the technical singer Emon was commented harshly by the judges. Not to forget every contestant was rebuked by the judges. But, the rule of the exception was broken by Amit Paul.
Let us see..who wins the title.
O! My Child Where are You?
Posted On Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at at 09:18 by rk rishikesh sinhaRanita Sinha,Kolkata
In today's so called modern e-world a child's childhood is lost somewhere in oblivion. My heart becomes heavy when I see my daughter busy with her sole companion - the television. Right from morning till bed time she is engrossed with cartoon network, Pogo, Disney, Nick Toon, Hungama, etc. She dresses in front of the television, she takes her food and even prefer reading her books in front of it. She can think nothing else than the cartoon characters and her video game and the computer games- the only games she is accustomed with.
Looking at her, sometimes, I remember my childhood days. Those days were so different from today's. With four siblings in the family we used to have lots of fun. We had lots of space to play too. And being in a joined family we had lots of cousins and we did not have any end to have fun. But in today's nuclear family a child is confined to a 2 to 3 bedroom flat, with no space to move around and with lots of video games and the Television, as the sole companion. But during my childhood days, we used to play lots of outdoor games like cricket, seven stones, hide and sick, kite flying, climbing trees, fishing etc. We as children were so unlike the children of today.
When children these days are busy watching television or playing video or computer games, we were busy playing the game of gilli danda, or stealing fruits from somebody else's garden, or flying kites or fishing. When today's child are computer savvy, we excelled in the art of sharpening the threads used for flying kites. If today you ask a child about the materials used to sharpen the threads, he will not be able to say the necessity to sharpen the thread. Many of them do not even know the name of games that we used to play.
It is really pathetic to see that today's children are deprived of all the fun and happiness they are supposed to have. I heartily wish if the pace of life would have spared at least these little angels.
What Amit, Debojit and Qazi have in common?
Posted On Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at at 23:37 by rk rishikesh sinhaNEW DELHI,INDIA
Indian Idol III: Amit Paul shares a common thread with Qazi of Fame Gurukul and Debojit of Sa Re Ga Ma. Explore what is the bottomline amongst them.
Amit Paul:
The Shillong lad has made the people of the hilly terrain to swell with proud. Watching the public response in the Indian Idol III towards him was amazing and exemplary. The hilly state known by Khasi and Jaintia communities going berserk against a Bengali lad is something which is hardly seen.
If there is something which is bringing the populace of Meghalaya to one stage is their affinity which they all share; and Amit Paul has did the same with the universal language of music. He has brought the picture of Shillong in the national television and in the world arena. It is a remarkable and to – be – noticed step, how a young boy made his name in the national musical show, but also given a name to the state he belongs to.
His effort will definitely infuse life to the young boys and girls of the state. They will come down to the plain and will be exploring the possibilities available here. And they will be successful since they do have musical culture. They love music, and they enjoy it. It is in their life. Chief Minister of the state Zoramthanga bestowing upon him the ambassador of peace of the state is noteworthy.
It is supposed Amit Paul is the first person who with his first shot in the musical arena was given this prestigious nomenclature ever given by a state to their budding singers. It is a different story that Amit Paul got eliminated earlier, but with the wild card entry he again came into the musical extravaganza.
And since then he is rocking the stage with his mellifluous voice. Those who are closely watching the television show will be knowing how his song Pehla…Nasha…Pehla ….Pyar …He… from the movie Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander and Nasha …Ye ….Pyar ..Ka..Nasha ..He… from the movie Mann mesmerized the whole television viewers, and the judges.
In the past couple of years, in the frenzy SMS musical shows, many talented singers were thrown into the top position and they have won the game, thanks to the regional tone and tenor (read tag) they carry. They become the symbol of the state and people do everything to make them win the race. The whole machinery of young blood is poured upon them.
Debojit Saha:
In this regard, Debojit Saha who represented Assam from the region Silchar in the Sa Re Ga Ma musical show is a classic example. He won the title with the support of the state. The volume of the votes that he garnered overshadowed his rival. Not to mention the bad mouth of the judges helped him winning the show. Regional media captured the news giving the people of the state to get united in the musical maha sangram.
Qazi Tauqeer:
There is Qazi Tauqeer of Kashmir who participated in the Fame Gurukul and won the title. With the help of the regional affinity and of his charismatic personality he swayed the whole nation and ultimately won the game. He was catapulted within days as a young hero representing trouble torn Kashmir. He never passed the musical test but thanks to his fans following he was never shown the exit door.
Now the clock is back on Amit Paul. Looking at the mass response of this lad it seems he is going to be the next Indian Idol III; coronation of the title will be in the namesake only. But not to forget his competitor, Prashant Tamang, a Nepali of Darjeeling is in the grand finale. He also carries the trans-regional-national affinity of Nepalis. He never came to the danger zone, the exit door.
Fans of the two titans will definitely fight tooth and nail to make their idol win the game. It will be a close fight. Both have the mass of volume of fans heavy. And they will do everything in the sake of sake of region/ state and the cultural affinity.

Indian Idol III: Amit Paul Advancing to the Crown
Posted On Monday, August 20, 2007 at at 10:16 by Sonika RajkumariThe next Indian Idol III is Amit Paul?
There are no contestants from Emon, Prashant, to Chang coming near to him.
The hill station boy Amit Paul is the next Indian Idol. Even judges have admitted this fact. That’s why I think even after doing consistent best performance, the camera and the clips shown in the Indian Idol revolves around another contestants; producers of the show have given up the title to Amit Paul.
No doubt, other contestants in the fray are also performing well but there is a deep fissure between his performance and others. In every gala round Amit’s singing has been fascinating us, touching us, mesmerizing us.
In his first singing we praised his performance by words as “outstanding, spellbound, fantastic” but now we don’t utter words, it comes in our expressions.
If one closely watches the face expression of the Judge’s, how did they react to his performance? Don’t they get speechless, showering him with praises?
Amit’s last song “mayeri yaad woh” of Euphoria virtually mum the mouths of the judges. Now, judges have stopped giving comments on his performance but they do give standing ovation to the music mogul.
Even other contestants can’t deny to this truth that Amit Paul once a wild card entry would be the next Indian Idol. Now the time has come to choose who will be the runner up in the musical show of talents. And in this runner-up title Prashant Tamang is giving a tough competition, Emon Chaterjee and Mayang Chang are also in the competition. Well, about Ankita it is sad to say till now no girl has become Indian Idol, so she will be in the next line of fire. She will be eliminated next in the next elimination round.
Do you agree the next Indian Idol would be none other than Amit Paul?

Indian Idol Prashant Tamang : An Uncut Diamond
Posted On Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at at 23:26 by rk rishikesh sinhaNEW DELHI
He is tough cute. Adorable. Delectable. Prashant Tamang is a contestant of the Indian Idol III. He is unique not of his looks and singing but of his cuteness and something that we all don’t know. Really can you explain what magnetize you towards him? I suppose you will not be able to come out with any explanation. He is magical in nature; at least for me.
I find him sometimes odd-man-out like person. He doesn’t fit anywhere in the competition of the Indian Idol III. But the very moment I find him as competent as others are. I don’t know how he takes the competition. He came in this musical extravaganza not to win, but I suppose to express himself, his obsessive singing capability. And in this attempt he won brilliantly. And has been giving a tough fight to other contestants, making them run out for their money.
The very first moment I saw him, a voice echoed in my heart, “Hey!! He must be selected forthright.” He is the person who is passionate about his singing. He has not taken any training in the music; he is an uncut diamond that has to be polished. And if Indian Idol is the programme that gives a platform to singers than he must be selected.
The trailer shown on Prashant I found it was very funny, a policeman wearing a full dress competing for the show. It was hilarious in nature, and very much amusing in its tone. Do you agree with me? Just comment!
Yes, he has been singing since childhood. He sings in the police orchestra. He wants to become the Indian Idol to prove himself and make the Kolkata police proud. He was in the Special Armed Force and has been working with the Kolkata police since 2002.
That’s might be the reason I am so fond of him. He is from police background; one hardly finds policeman singing, dancing in any musical show. His background make me feel, conditions are never drastic just one has to be prepared to give a fight in an honest manner, in right attitude. And he exemplifies this.
Nevertheless, he thinks of himself as a simple person with simple thoughts and simple living. No doubt of it, people of hills are simple, not corrupted by the vanity of the world, they have their own way to see the world, which we people might not be able to share and understand. Of this fact, he has proved, they (hilly people) are talented.
One remembers Dainy Denzongpa, the Hindi film villain. Of his unusual looks, he had to fought bitter to establish in the Punjabi dominated bollywood. Same thing could be said about Prashant Tamang.
I remember the comments judges gave it to him in his journey from oblivion to star like status. Uday once said, “You sing well, but you need to be more original”. Alisha Chinai said, “I like your 'rough' voice. You are an uncut diamond”.
How did you find his songs: Main hoon na from Main Hoon Na; Yeh dosti from Sholay; Yeh hausla kaise juke from Dor; Aao twist kare (Bhoot Bangla); Aaj kal tere mere pyar ke (Film: Brahmachari); Do you want a partner (Film: Partner); Chain kuli ki main kuli (Film: Masti); Salaam e ishq (Film: Salaam e Ishq); Woh sikander hai (Film: Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar); Ya Ali (Film: Gangster/ SINGER ZUBEEN GARG); Aye kash mein hum (Film: Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na); Yaar ko maine (Film: Sheesha); Kehna hai kehnai hai (Film: Padosan); Kasto mazza hai (Film: Parineeta); Aye ajnabi (Film: Dil se); Kaho na kaho (Film: Murder); Rind posh maal (Film: Mission Kashmir).
All these are classic and are very catchy. But he failed to create the magic like Nasha..ye Pyaaar …ka Nashaaa...He and Pehla Nasha …Pehla Nasha ….Pehla Pyar sung by Amit Paul. One could say about him is that the Indian Idol journey has been his one more journey for this hilly terrain boy; which is unfortunately is not going to be very easy. Not to forget the eye of the audience Mayang Chang is still in the fray who belongs the same state. Hehehehehheeheheh!!!!!
At last, what and where his fate takes turn in near future; one thing is sure he will be remembered, revered. Best of luck for him I wish him success in his life.

Doordarshan's loveliest Lullabies
Let us not forget? is the one of the post where I went down the old Doordarshan days; exploring and churning out the names of the programmes and serials laden deep into my consciousness. Decades have passed by we had seen all these programmes; on my part it was very tough to recall everything related to that period.
But when I started writing the post taking help from my friend and brothers. The work that seems unsurmountable became easy. I never thought the response from my friends known and unknown would be so heart wrenching and soul stirring.
The post which was expected to be short has now been stretched adding the advertisment to that period.
If you remember advertisment to that period. Do comment. Let us not forget.

In the 1980's the Indian Television means Doordarshan
This post will be nostalgic for those people who used to watch Doordarshan in their childhood days and still remember the old Mile Sur Mera Tumhara and all those Doordarshan programmes.
Once in a lifetime one gets an opportunity to jot down his/ her early memories. And this post would be the one amongst them. I am in the state of elysium to go down into my sweet memory lane.
I remember my first black and white image that I saw in “our” television set, it was the umbrella cloud that aroused after the Nagasaki and Hiroshima nuclear bomb explosion. If I remember correctly, the year was 1984 – 1985. I used the word “our” inside apostrophe because in those times your television isn’t yours but is of neighbours.
The television was brought after constant nagging on my part of my mother after she failed to stop me going to neighbour’s drawing room. We kids at that time had some favorite serials that included Vikram Aur Betal (vikram.. vikram.. vikram..betal… betal… betal…- you remember), Chitrahaar, Appu Aur Pappu (Appu aur pappu ki dekho yaari…- you remember), Aa Bail Mujhe Maar, Ek Do Teen Char (Title song: Ek do teen char, chaaro mil ke saath chale to karde chamatkar). Around these programmes our world used to revolve. All these programmes used to come at Sunday, if my memory is correct.
With all these programmes stacked on Sunday; the day had a different meaning altogether, the zest and gusto had a similar touch to that of festivals and have had the part of the ritual - taking bathe and breakfast early and completing household chores before the signature tune of Doodarshan starts. In those days, the advertisement were that of Nirma (Washing powder powder Nirma..NIRMA), Kayam Churen, Rooh Afza, Rasna (I Love You Rasana!!), Cinkara (hamdard ka tonic CINKARAAA…), Fevicol (elephant tug of war), Liril (the girl under water fall), and Surf (lalita ji!!!).
Something you remember…
1. Ohho Dipika ji... aaiye aaiye... dipikaji takes a washing soap... lekin aap to hamesha woh mehngi wali tikiya... dipikaji says jab wohi safedi kam daam mein mile to koi woh kyu le, yeh na le... maan gaye... dipikaji says kisey?... aapki parkhi nazar aur nirma super dono ko...
2. Yu to hamesha taiyaar rehte ho... aaj kaha hai tumhara dibba... yeh lijiye... ek hi pouch se kya sab ko khilaoge... to aap do lijiye... aur mere liye?...
3. Raam laxman bulb dena... aisa koi bulb nahi aata... aata hai main kal hi leke gaya... ohho aapko laxman silveniya bulb chahiye... ha magar ek nahi chhey... chhey?... poore ghar ke badal dalunga...
4.Khaitan ke pankhe - Rajendranath as customer(flies when fan speed is on high) and Parikshit sahni as salesman.
5.Pan parag - Shammi kapoor and Ashok kumar. Hum bas itna chahte hai ke baratiyo ka swagat... pan parag se ho... ohho ho ho paan paraag... humein kya maloom aap bhi pan parag ke shaukeen hai... yeh lijiye pan parag.
If you remember any other advertisement to that period, do comment!!
I don’t know about others, I remember and it is in my consciousness I used to pay Rs 2 to watch Doordarshan’s Sunday movie. And that was after proper hygiene checking after that I was allowed to take the seat, very often on the floor. If I am coming directly from the playground, it was absolutely NO…NO…The auntijee used to say “Tumhare pao gande he, pura mitthi laga hua he..ghar se pao do ke aao…fir film dekhna..” Friends you could imagine …in no time the auntijee turned out to be villain. The movie I last saw was Monoj Kumar’s Upkaar in my favourite auntie’s house.
Friends, I have the privilege, you remember the programmes – Night Rider and Street Hawk, to watch before the Indian viewers could enjoy. I watched these entertaining programmes of magical car and of the bike in the Bangladesh television, and that in the English and not in the hindi.
How one could forget Wednesday 8 o’clock Chitrahaar? Ho nahi sakta ….kadapi nahin ho sakta ..ki koi bhul jaye…Not possible to forget since it come as the only window to the world of filmi songs. It was the only dose for entertainment in the weekdays.
At that time there was misconception prevailing that a television in home was a nuisance, disturbing the studies of children. No prize for guessing, the television we had had a wooden window with lock facility. Friends!! That Weston television set is still in the running condition without any glitch in my relative’s home. If you want to buy it, please do contact. It will be sold to the highest bidder. Just kidding.!!!Then came the Ramayana fever of the great epic. Its popularity reached such a zenith point that the entire nation and that of our locality used to come to a virtual stop. Our drawing room used to draw football of near-neighbours, nearest-neighbours and the farthest-neighbours. It is not that I know each and every one; there were many whom I don’t know they were passerby who dropped after listening the signature tune of the Ramayana or I suppose by its timings. Anyway they dropped, our door was always kept open for them, and irrespective of what their religious inclination they had. I remember my Muslims friends vociferously watching Ramayana and enjoying them to the last arrow fired.
You remember, TA NA NA NA NA NA …!! Yes, Malgudi Days. How was it? Krishi Darshan - Agriculture based show. Shanti - Mandira bedi. Vyomkesh Bakshi. Sigma. Indradhanush. Fauji, Humlog, Buniyaad, Chunauthi, Circus, He-man, Mungerilal, Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, Udaan, Yogi. Surabhi (Sidharth Kak or Renuka Sahani), Samtahiki, Bharat Kee Khoj, and The Sword Of Tipu Sultan.
How was the “Gumshuda Talaash Kendra” short programme? Hehehehheehhee…National integration programme like "Ek Anak Aur Ekta" cartoon, Mile Sur Mera tumhara. The news for the hearing impaired. I distinctly recollect her expression on .. somebody is killed or has passed away...And how was School Chale Hum.. Param Vir Chakra, Ducktales, Mickey And Mouse, Gul Gulshan Gulfaam, Hello Zindagi, Khali Haath, The World This Week, Alice in Wonderland. And at last the Mahabharata.
In addition to all these, how was the news? Frankly it was for me the most disrespected programme put on air. I hated like anything.Well, the newsreaders were - Neethi Ravindran, Minu, Rini Khanna, Sukanya balakrishnan, Sangeetha Bedi, Komal GB Singh, Salma Sultana, Manjari Jothi, Raman, Ved Prakash, Tejeshwar Singh, Uday Bir Saran Das, Nirmal Andrews, Bhaskar Bhattacharjee, CM Mathews, Pankaj Mohan, Preet KS Bedi.
Lot of old stuff coming back for some strange reason. Isn’t? Let us not forget all these enchanting programmes in today’s world of television cacophony. Those were really our golden days.
I feel like crying.

The boat of Abhishek anchored in Indian Idol III
Posted On Saturday, August 04, 2007 at at 21:54 by rk rishikesh sinhaNEW DELHI,INDIA
I remember Anu Malik saying Abhishek in the “run of the Indian idol III”. But the irony is that he is out of the competition forever. His performance will not be visible to his fan. He was one who was different in the bunch of contestants.
I think his previous performance had cost him dearly. One would say bad luck had stroke him hard. If one watches the contestant’s previous performance, then he was not the only one who did not sang well as compared to other contestants. Imagine Amit Paul forgotten the song assigned to him. How funny, it seems!!!!
In his one song Rup…Tera…Mastana…, I remember Javed Akhtar commented that this song is like bomb ……He got bored listening this song innumerable times, but the way Abhishek sang didn’t made him feel bore; moreover the song brought him the same craziness the song carry. Of this fact, he has been thrown out from the Indian idol III.
The news of Abhishek removal did not come as a surprise since in the danger group of the four contestansts: Emon, Ankita, Puja, and Abhishek; he was the one who had the maximum probability to leave the competition. Emon had a good fan following so is the case with other contestants. So if someone was left he was Abhishek. His previous bad performance in the folk round is one more reason that added fuel to his elimination.
Since I am not able to fill up the pain that I felt after seeing his elimination, I sat to write about him and catch the thoughts crossing my mind. I will miss him.

Amit Paul Insipid, Emon Good, Prashant Improved
Posted On at at 17:24 by rk rishikesh sinhaThe gala just went without any masti, music..
NEW DELHI,INDIA
Friends!! How was Amit Paul's performance in the folk music based programme of the Indian Idol III? Definitely, I am not happy and you will agree with me. He was not only irresponsible and didn't paid effort, but his voice was flat and not suitable to sing folk songs. Isn't?
In my previous posts I have praised him, but this time I am not going to praise him but dumb him. Read previous posts. It is understandable his voice doesn't go for folk songs, but one thing which really disturbed me was he forgot a part of the Omkara song.
He must know that people have the habit to forget things very fast. He was fabulous with Pehla…Nasha….from the movie Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander and Nasha…Ye… Pyar… Ka Nasha …from the movie Mann.
Barring few, no doubt the judges praised him. But don't you think they have built up an emotional bondage for that reason they did not notice all those mistakes he was doing. And, we the audience had to languish with his insipid singing capability.
Prashant Tamang sang well, Emon was fanstastic, and almost every singer were in their best form. Not to mention girls performance in this gala. They showed their mettle.
Emon's As Usual
Emon's was flawless. Yes he was perfect..and showed that technically speaking no one can beat him in his home ground. He has the power to recuperate and give a tough fight. He is an accomplished singer. Not one time "wonder boy" who spell magic once and later vanish in oblivion. He is one of the pillars on which the Indian Idol III is standing upon.
Prashant Tamang is back
Yes, the most shy contestant, Prashant Tamang is back with Boomro...Booomro, a song from the movie Mission Kashmir. Though I don't like his song, but it is who gives me the inspiration that one must be truthful to himself, and of his interest. He is so cute, simple, with no vanity lingering around him. He seems the same person from Darjeeling, donning a police dress. I don't think there is anyone in the Indian Idol who has worked or has been in the job before. He is a natural, uncarved singer. In persosal front I didn't like his song, and the way he sang. I found he was correct in the pronunciation. There were many words which had a Nepali impression.
Lets wait for another round of a gala and see who rocks..and who were stale...

Amit Paul's next song?
Posted On Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at at 00:22 by rk rishikesh sinhaNEW DELHI,INDIA
After the rocking performance of Nasha..Ye.. Pyar.. Ka..Nasha He..and Pehla..Nasha..Pehla. Pyar..He. What next?
Amit Paul has many feathers on his cap. Of his awesome, brilliant, blitzkrieg performance he has awestruck, enthralled not only Judges but also his fans. He has catapulted the whole game by his astounding presentation at first by Nasha.. Ye Pyar.. Ka Nasha He...and later by Pehla..Nasha..Pehla. Pyar..He…
Being a music aficionado of his song, and of his choice. I got bit preoccupied and concerned about what would be his next song choice. Really am serious, on which song he would be lending his voice. I am eagerly waiting for Friday when the Indian Idol contestants would be performing. I cannot wait for long.
So, I ran my imagination to find out, unravel which song he would be choosing. Here are some guesses. I think he would be picking up. In this approximate game of mathematics, probability and correlation, and permutation and combination, I took help of Google, all-knowing device.
In Yahoo, I found a question - "What Is Your Favorite Hindi Song? What Are The Top Songs Of Bollywood? Readers choose their favorite."
And the Best Answer, chosen by voters were
1.Lag Ja Gale Se(Woh Kaun Thi)
2.Tujshe Naaraz Nahi Jindgi(Masoom)
3.Tumse Milke Aisa Laga(Parinda)
4.Baahon Ke Darmiya(Khamoshi)
5.Suraj Hua Madham(K3g)
6.Hum Bewafa(Shalimar)
7.Pehla Nasha(Jo Jita Wohi Sikander)
8.Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi(Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi)
9.O Meri Jaan(Life In A Metro)
10.Man Ki Lagan(Ppa)
Now it was the turn to check the songs popularity in the world of Internet. The graph of the three of the factors showed like this. Click So, if he follows this pattern of choosing his song, than he would be picking up the song Hum Bewafa from the movie Shalimar. And we all would be listening this song.
It may happen that since Udit Narayan had originally sung all his past two songs, he may wish to continue it. But given four singers Udit Narayan, Shaan, Abhijeet and Sonu Nigam. Click to see the graph. The statistics shows the next song would be from the song sung by Sonu Nigam followed by Shaan.
Again choosing randomly three of the very popular and are very romantic songs. Of the fact that romantic song Amit Paul sings well. I took a sample of three melodious songs: Nazar ke samne jigar ke pas from the movie Ashiqui, Dil.. he.. ki.. manta..nahin from movie Dil He Ki Manta Nahin, Baahon.. ke.. darmiya.. from the movie Khamoshi. I would suggest he picks up the song from Ashiqui. It would indeed be a death-blowing attack on other contestants.
I would like to see Amit Paul choose these songs that I have suggested. These songs mentioned are not only romantic, but have been the greatest hits of their time, haivng a strong affinity in the public.
At last if every guess fails about what song Amit Paul would be picking. There is no options left except waiting for Friday when he will open the pandora box.
Breaking News: Amit Paul the Next Indian Idol
Posted On Saturday, July 28, 2007 at at 18:14 by Sonika RajkumariAgain, in the gala round of the Indian Idol, the magic of Amit Paul’s performance was at the zenith. It was awe-inspiring and breathtaking. The song sung by him “Pehla nasha pehla khumaar” from the movie Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander was really addictive in its strength, all present there literally got addicted with the sweetness of the Amit’s voice. Right from the Judges to the audience, to millions of people that were glued to watch his performance. All were swinging nonchalantly.
Its 2’a.m and I have been slogging for 2 hours to write about what I m feeling right now. Call it unfortunate I don’t find words how to explain what is crossing in my mind after hearing Amit Paul’s “Pehla Nasha”. I will simply say that I have got obsessed of his singing and I’m not going to sleep tonight.
Every time I watch Amit Paul’s performance and able-to-make hypnotizing singing, I dissolve in it.
The words like "rocking, outstanding, fantastic, flawless…", are some of the comments that judges gave to his enchanting presentation. It is not the comments that were of importance but the respect and the honour he garnered by his performance. Hardly, it happens that an original singer gives a standing ovation to another singer. And it has happened in the Amit Paul’s singing. Udit Narayan, the original singer of the song pehla nasha .., pehla pyar leaved his place and went on to stage to sing again with Amit.
Coming to the blunt Anu Malik, he has declared him as the next Indian Idol. Not to say about Alisha Chinai and Javed Akhtar, they got out only in one fantastic, impressive, mind blowing spell.
At this present moment, the million-dollar question is - who will be the next Indian Idol? But, I like Anu Malik has declared him the next Indian Idol. He is a complete package of style and statements. After all, Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander, and Amit is the Sikander of the show.
Pehlaaa...Nashaaa..is really Pehlaaa...Nashaaa..

NEW DELHI,INDIA
I am writing this post after hearing Amit Paul's song Pehla Nasha...I went down the memory lane.
In the Bollywood industry of music churning songs, there can be no song as sweet as pehlaaaa… nashaaaa…pehla khumar…, naya pyar he naya intezaaarrrrrr from the movie Jo Jeeta Wahi Sinkander Sikanader strumming the ‘love ’ hearts of young boys and girls. Yes, there is no song as melodic, as touching as pehala.. nasha….pehla ..pyar.. he..
The song has the same nasha of opium - once smitten, you get addicted to it. The song right from its lyrics, to choreography, to presentation is marvelous, superb. I cannot stop praising the song, the story plot, and the characterization of the actors of the movie.
The song pehala.. nasha….pehla ..pyar.. he.. has acquired a special space in my heart and in my consciousness. It has been able to make an indelible mark in my life. I find the song carry the same freshness when it was released in 1992. Still it evokes the same feelings of love in me. It oozes out the days of youthfulness of my teenage days, and the days of peep into the girl’s domain. It makes me feel and smell the days when air of love was sweeping, swirling all around in the environment. The film beautifully depicts my masti and nasha days what we five friends were religiously following and involved in school. At the time of release of the movie I was in Kashmir and I still remember we friends - with a Walkman tuned to this song - lie on the layer of the newly fallen snow in one corner of the playground and our five heads looking at the sky. All mesmerized by the deadly mixture of the song and the Kashmir’s fiza had created. Not to forget the age we were passing and the chemistry of first, second,…crush.
It was the winter season of Kashmir, and we all five friends (the strength of our class) dressed in black leather jacket and sunglasses, only to save us from the bone-chilling winter breeze, got infected from this song. Aahhhh! Going very personal. I love to store my beautiful personal days only to me. Sorry!!! I went down the memory lane. I can’t imagine the same song casts the same affect that it used to 15 years ago on me.
I was on top of the world...and this song very well describes it.
I would say - every one who has been in love...this is a song!! pehlaaaa… nashaaaa…pehla khumar…, naya pyar he naya intezaaarrrrrr…
About this song and the movie, I don’t have words to praise all those people who have worked behind the camera and in front of the camera, in making this millennium movie.
My inquisitive about this movie have made me to jot down all those people who worked in the movie and to mention some trivial facts.
Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander
Directed by Mansoor Khan
Produced by Nasir Hussain
Written by Mansoor Khan
Starring:
Aamir Khan (its me)
Pooja Bedi (for which my heart beats momentarily)
Ayesha Jhulka (for which my heart beat always)
Deepak Tijori (I hate him most)
Music by Jatin Lalit (who prompted me to fall in love)
Trivial facts:
It was this movie that catapulted Jatin-Lalit to success. This movie was their second movie together.
The song Pehla Nasha was the first song choreographed by Farah Khan.
Girija, Geethanjali fame, directed by Maniratnam was signed on to be in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander and also shot most of the movie when the director felt she was too stunted as an actress and replaced with Ayesha Jhulka and reshot. If you observe closely, there is one song in the movie with Girija dancing with Amir and the rest.

Meiyang Chang an eye of the Indian Idol III
Posted On Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at at 22:28 by Sonika RajkumariHe has been advancing like a rocket taking the same projectile. He is perhaps the next Indian Idol after Sandeep, the second Indian Idol after the Abhijeet Sawant, the first Indian Idol.
One can easily predict Chang’s future in this episode of the Indian Idol. Despite carrying a Chinese gene, he has an excellent Hindi accent and voice quality that is enough to bewilder anybody. Of this fact, judges many times right from the time of his audition have appreciated him.
I still remember when I saw him in audition I got completely moved by his voice, his singing and of course by his effervescent persona. That time it crossed my mind, YEAAAHHH…. he is a man of long race and this is what he has been doing till now.
He is one of the strong contenders in the Indian Idol race. Others like Amit Paul, Ankita, Emon are in the race but Meiyang Chang is their giving them a strong fight making them to bite bullet.
Staying after every elimination episode, only his singing talent and X- factor have helped him to sail so far.
Though the audience seems divided, the public who support him is also not lesser than the other combined contestants volume. Not to mention, he is very different from other contestants by his cute, unique looks and talent.
From the bottom of my heart, I pray he clears each and every coming elimination rounds. After all I am great fan of him. It is not that I weigh heavily towards him, I find Amit Pual also mesmereized me very much.
But at the same time I am also afraid and worried of Prashant Tamang’s fan following, a Nepali and from the police background. But I don’t find in him that magical factors that are pre-requisite of winning this gala.
Winding up the whole story I would like to see the next Indian Idol must be a complete singer with a charismatic personality.
And I find these two qualities only in two contestants – Amit Paul and Meiyang Chang.

Indian Idol III Amit Paul spell magic by Nasha Yeh Pyar Ka Nasha Hain
Posted On Sunday, July 22, 2007 at at 17:48 by Sonika RajkumariA contestant of the Indian Idol III, Amit Paul from Shillong has been shocking this show by his consistent best performance in the gala rounds. I completely got mesmerized the way Amit Paul sang. The judges and the whole nation got speechless after seeing his performance.
Amit’s most rocking and fantastic performance in the last gala round – nasha yeh pyaar ka nasha hein from the movie Mann, Alisha commented on his performance by only one word – bombastic. Her praise was visible on her face.
The darling of audience, Javed Akhtar was lost in his word how to express his feeling despite being a person who played with words. He wished at his age he could have the same voice as of Amit.
Ever since the Indian Idol went on air there have not been such performances by any contestants. And I mean it. He infused life to the song. He was absolutely flawless. He casts a magical effect on the whole nation.
I found in the case of Amit Paul’s performance, the comment passing judges didn’t pass comments but I found they got revered and paid obeisance to him; an ultimate honour that could be given to anybody. They leaved from their seat and came beside him.
I remember I was not watching the programme but my ears were tuned to it. But when he started his song, my head automatically turned at the angle of 90 degree from my laptop and get stuck to his singing.
The hang over remain with me for many days, and today in Sunday I saw repeat telecast of his song. I went berserk and sat to write about him.
At the time when each and every channel are running music talent programme in different names and are cluttered it is very tough to choose and pick what to watch and it has become very tough job.
What do you think about Amit Paul, will he win the race and become the next idol? Other contestants are also good but their performances are not spelling magic like Amit Paul
