"Ladies Seat, Please"

‘Ladies Seat’ written on public transportation is visible and, of course readable to almost all of us. The words written on the window panes of the bus is basically meant for those left side seats which are reserved for ladies. These golden words change it colours that is scripts depending upon the state. If you are in the states like Assam, Punjab, or in south India, perhaps in the capital city New Delhi, it has a different script. But, it means the same – that the seats are reserved for ladies, and only for ladies.

Not to mention, we all have occupied these seats and would have remained glued to it till we got our destination. The journey seems much relax, comfortable and of our taste. But there are days when a lady comes forward and you have to leave it. Here rises the problem – though there are men who without saying any word leave their occupied seat, even there are men who refuses to acknowledge the golden letters and occupy it as if they would take the seat to their home.

In the capital city, the same history repeats. Well, you will find the same two types of commuters – ‘yes, ladies seat’ and ‘no, ladies seat’. The seat doesn’t remain a mere seat to sit. It appears something else – a precious entity that can’t be shared nonetheless with a woman.

There have been instances where a man occupying the seat doesn’t leave it after being requested by a lady. And the person redirects the same request to another person who is occupying the ladies seat. A heated debate takes place. Depending upon the profile of the lady the momentum of the fight is determined. If the lady is a convent educated, a flurry of English sentences could be heard. The quarrel turns comical when the man’s English conversation is not to the mark of the lady. The scene is vociferously watched and enjoyed to the hilt. The same scene I witnessed yesterday on my way from Duala Kuan to Naraina. Imagine, the highly volatile male ego the lady would have pricked. At last the man who would be below 25 blurted out, “Ma’am muje angrezi nahin ati…ap hi hame sikha do”. At last he ended up the sentences by “bas …bas…ho gayi”. The man true to his ego didn’t leave the seat.

One more incident which I found very funny and which left me with a thought, took place while I was coming from Dwarka. I was legally occupying the seat – a seat ahead of the conductor’s seat and there was person sitting opposite to mine. After few stoppages, a married couple with a toddler boarded the bus and the bus was fully packed. The husband requested the person to leave the seat. The answer that the person gave was very childish. He retorted back his request by saying that he is unwell. I don’t think that a real man could have answered this. He was a pigeon-hearted man.

The social music revolution: Last.fm

If you are a music freak and you have a high appetite for music, and all music related stuff. You consider the Beatles, the most enterprising music band ever existed in the world, and in same breadth you love bands Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Muse, Coldplay, Metallica, Linkin Park, Foo Fighters …you know the list is endless.

Then the Last.fm – the social music revolution is your place. The website is all about audio music and video music. It caters more than music. Users can read their favourite band’s biography. Moreover, they can add their word as well.

The site is truly revolutionizing in concept. I found the site is the only online entity which caters to video and audio music content simultaneously. However, something enticing feature which I found in this site is that you can keep track of your music taste. The feature has been named by the website as scrobbling! For this you have to download this feature.

Scrobbling a song means that when you listen to it, the name of the song is sent to Last.fm and added to your music profile. Songs are scrobbled when you listen to on your PC or iPod automatically.

Features which I find of importance are – Weekly Top Tracks and Weekly Top Artists.

So, visit this website and explore your musical taste. Note: Like esnips.com every song/ track is not downloadable in this website. One more thing, if you are from India or interested in Hindi songs, then the website has got limited offers. It is only due to limited members. But it is expected with its higher penetration in India, the site will definitely have volume of Hindi songs.

Sensitize Sanitation

Like any other city in India, construction of toilet place is given least concern. And the same story repeats in New Delhi. The city has to improve and give a face lift so to be called a world class city.

Sometimes I do wonder what would be the face of the capital city in 2010, two years from now. Would it become a land of concrete buildings with no space to relax in the lap of nature? Or would it transgress itself to such a rosy-coloured world where there is no bumper-to-bumper traffic, water shortage, unemployment, sanitation and security issues?

In order to avoid the agonizing traffic – steps have been taken with the construction of impressive flyovers all across the city. But coming to the sanitation problem, it seems the government is least concerned. The sufferers to this problem are common people – children, men and women, who ply in public buses and can’t relax themselves in hotels and pay Rs 1 or 2 in paid-toilets. In comparison to the children and men, imagine the untold suffering especially women had to undergo daily.

They had to suffer of no fault of their own. To this issue, Delhi is still unsafe. Once you are caught except some couple of well-maintained Sulabh toilets in some locations, you search, dig information where to relax for some few minutes, you will get awestruck that there is no such place in a city where millions of people entry and exit daily. It is a horrible experience not finding toilets in India Gate and many bus terminals.

And even you are able to find the ultimate place [toilets] they are in a salubrious condition. Stench emanating from there is deadly; obstructing you to use it. So only one place is left - it is the road.

In places like India Gate where lakhs of people both foreigners and domestic tourists pay their visit – there is no toilet. One can see frequent visitors relaxing themselves in the shade of tree. But foreigners and those who have first time come here to see the monument they are left with no choice.

The scene in Daula Kuan is exacerbating. All along the stretch where interstate bus and local bus from Gurgaon and Rajasthan stop, the place gives a horrible and horrendous look. One can see commuters as soon as they get down from the bus throws themselves to the corner of the road – watering the walls.

It is ironical the stretch has not caught the attention of the public administration. Urinating takes place in mammoth scale. It gives a bizarre look especially at the day time. Delhi must pay attention and do something to improve the infrastructure in order to stem public urination. The government must do something like the Shiela Dixit bus. Readers who are not from Delhi will laugh to know that private bus operators call the newly introduced low-floor bus with the name of the chief minister ‘Shiela Dixit’.

Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) Bus Conductors are James Bonds

Hello friends. If you belong to Delhi and daily commute for your job or for some other reason – then the fear of Delhi Transport Corporation’s (DTC) bus conductor is obvious. As soon as you board the bus, a sort of strange fear grips you. A bizarre energy throws you towards the old, angry bus conductor. You are not alone in this exercise. There are, indeed, many commuters like you, who frantically extend money (bus fare) to this remorseless, ghost in the human form – the bus conductor.

The whole affair is agonizing. Since you are stretched at two points, one giving the bus fare, second you have to confirm and compete for your seat in midst of hullabaloo and abracadabra affair.

Well, being in Delhi and not having an affair with the army of bus conductors, it is not possible - absolutely not possible. One day or the other day, you have to get entangled with these bus conductors. Every person has their own story, and I suppose these stories are indeed, agonizing, distressful, and painful.

Few days back I had the same one-to-one session with this DTC bus conductor. The bus was plying between Rohini and Gurgaon. I boarded the bus from Naraina and following the same procedure as I have mentioned I was capable to do both the things together – taking the ticket and occupying a seat.

The story unfolded in Iffco Chowk, Gurgaon. The climax of my story starts from here. Two old persons, the ticket checkers boarded the bus and they were in their mission, early morning mission: to catch passengers who don’t buy tickets. They were just like James Bond (this time only two) secretly assassinating those caught red-handed without ticket.

This time in their mission I was caught red-handed, in their eyes I was a foe, to be killed in cold-blooded manner. It is not that I didn’t take fare. Actually the same old bus conductor gave me a ticket that was validated till Shankar Chowk, Gurgaon. At that moment my experience whispered me - there is no point to have a lovely one-to-one talk with the bus conductor and ask: why my dear bus conductor you have given me this ticket.

Within minutes I became a cynosure in front of all commuters. Frankly speaking, I was extremely unaware of the fact that I was getting so much of peoples’ attention. My first concern was to free myself from the entanglement. Good news is that I was not carrying the amount of fine Rs 100.

And after few minutes of lovely chit chat with these two old Bonds, at last I freed myself when I showed them that I am from PRESS and showed my identity card. I am bigger James Bond than you two people combined. I am a James Bond!

The scene ends there, there in Iffco Chowk, Gurgaon. I set for another mission that is to get to my office and tell the nightmare story to my colleagues. And of course, these two old Bonds were again in their undertaken mission preying on ticketless commuters.
At the end, beware of this DTC bus Bonds who are cruel and inhuman characters. They are ghost and must not be entertained at any cost.

Google Trends: You'll Definitely Fall in Love

I love Google Trends. The day I come to know this tool in the internet world, I unknowingly became fan of this remarkable feature offered by Google. The tool gives me an insight what actually people search and what is their true status. It tells me in which region, cities, and languages people search to any particular keyword(s).

Type “Scarlett Johansson, Pamela Anderson, Julia Roberts, Mahatma Gandhi” in the Search Trends bar – the tool comes out with a diagram in different colours codes. You must pay attention to the “All Regions” and “All Years” in the page. You can change with your required regions or time frame. It is a remarkable tool. Note: you can have your keyword(s).

The result shows, in Finland people search more on Pamela Anderson, followed by Scarlett Johansson, an American actress. So, without dirtying ones hand one comes to know what people are searching and in what scale. It cleans ones mind before coming to the conclusion – your individual prejudice may vanish. Like it has happened with me, I thought Scarlett Johansson will be popular, but it is not true. Despite Johansson being the most beautiful face in the entertainment industry, she is not popular in the internet world.

Don’t you think this tool is fantastic and useful, than to yours Google mail and other Google products?

“I am proud, I am a Bihari!”

“I am proud, I am a Bihari!” Have you ever heard this sentence? Not to mention, you have heard…at Mariana Trench, terrorism infested state Jammu and Kashmir, Capital city Delhi, Commercial city Mumbai, even in the thick jungles of Assam, or in permit driven state Arunachal Pradesh [visitors have to take permit to enter the state]…

You name it, and you will find people who utter this sentence.

Unfortunately, this sentence comes out as a reaction to defend oneself from ignominy that usually builds up when two elements adds: first there is a Bihari and, second there is in air - a topic on Bihar, its politics, people and personalities.

Uhhhh!!! No body on earth utters this sentence than Bihari people do. Interestingly, we all love our soil we belong to. But, the momentum they build on by saying “I am proud, I am a Bihari!” seem childish. It is something like a child caught red handed while stealing stuff and defensively blurts out: I told you, I haven’t done it. That’s it.

It is ironical that wherever in any part of India parochialism is given fan, they are the first people coming to the target. In Jammu and Kashmir, they are being gunned down by the terrorists and in Assam and Maharashtra, they are in the receiving end.

It shouldn’t happen since we are all brethren of the great country India. We all have our unique culture, customs, language, traits and we must pay respect as much we give to ours.

Again, on an average we all pay respect to other persons’ genetic and political make-up. We are inquisitive to other person’s caste, religion and the state he belongs to. And there are many myths, proverb and funny stuff lingering in and around any state and caste.

The word “Bihari” means a lot. Anyone being called a Bihari is being taken with disdainful, scornful, inhuman note. It is still a mystery why Biharis doesn’t like being called a Bihari.

There is no point reacting to any such comments if it is made. It must be taken with a bit of humour. And if possible, maintain the golden rule: Silence.

It will give a very positive response. Biharis must learn. If not, it solidifies another myth: Ek Bihari so bimari.

Delhi and Gurgaon: The Brownian Motion

It’s been almost two months, I have been towing between Delhi and Gurgaon. And, so far the journey has been bag full of experiences. Not to forget, people take, and I am not an exception to the rule: The reward of suffering is experience.

Well, the experience has been the mixture of success and failure affair. How? Obviously, getting at office at time all the way traveling over 40 km and changing couple of vehicles, and again following the same route back home does matter a lot. And for this I pat myself.

Amazingly, I have been most of the time much before the official time, becoming the first person to open the door and turning on lights. Seeing myself taking this honour – opening the door – I feel as I have won a war and waiting to be decorated with some medal!

Nonetheless, the present 10 am to 6 pm job, besides giving the opportunity to becoming “master of none”, has reaffirmed by belief that there is no rule of success. Again, how? Since two months I have been searching, researching the perfect travel itinerary so that I can easily get to office and again back home without any hit and trial attempt. But, it’s been an utter failure.

If I have been a failure, it is the failure of the respective governments of Delhi and Haryana!! Don’t get jerked, how my failure, becomes the failure of the laws of land. Remember, the hype and hoopla that was accorded to the jaywalking. People were fined to improve their walking etiquettes. Etiquettes go haywire in different crossings of National Highway 8 and Ring Road.

People including me take the risk of crossings the roads at Naraina, Duala Kuan, Rajiv Chowk (Haryana) and Khandsa village (Haryana). Since I started jaywalking on these crossings, no policeman has ever fined me. God forbids! People’s motion in these crossings recalls me of Brownian motion: the random motion of small particles suspended in a gas or liquid. It is pure Physics!

People coming from the opposite direction in their attempt to cross the road very often collide face-to-face. Likewise, I have been caught in the Brownian motion with other human-particles!

Not to mention, in the route of my motion comes the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway trajectory. The opening of the Delhi-Gurgaon and its subsequent traffic jam has been in news. Where the opening of the expressway has escaped poor souls like me from the erratic, bumper to bumper traffic at Subroto Park, which had been a daily affair; but its opening has created another lethal, inescapable traffic snarl at the toll gate.

Every time when I cross this toll gate, it makes me feel that it is a dam where gush of vehicles are abruptly stopped, and later allowed in much controlled manner. The scene of vehicles gushing out is fabulous, impressive. Sometimes, I feel getting down from the bus/ cab and have a run. Really! I do feel to have my feet on this stretch.

I remember in the initial days of its opening, the heavy traffic of the vehicles at the gate made the way for free-passage after finding that they [DS Constrution] can’t pay-out receipt of each vehicles using their stretch. So far, this has been an “experience” for DS Construction for “suffering” a major loss of their income.

And another aspect of my journey is that the stretch from Rajiv Chowk to this newly inaugurated fly-over at Subroto Park is full of fly-overs. Sometimes, I do feel I am taking a ride on a roller-coaster. As soon as the first fly-over ends, next starts with different surroundings.

So, my traveling is full of surprises which can’t be “suffering” experiences at all. At the end, today I followed a different route; I did not go to Naraina, to save myself from another traffic jam. I went to Karol Bagh and came to my home. I followed this first time – in my two-months to and fro motion between Delhi and Gurgoan and to my surprise I reached home quite early and the journey less tiring.

Do tell, if you have a car, if possible a SUV, Mercedes is “OK” to save me from Delhi’s government assurance – to have a control on the wheels on the roads.

Delhi or Mumbai: which scores better?

NEW DELHI,INDIA

The debate continues for ages, which is the better city to live in? Is it the political capital or the commercial capital of India? Is it Delhi or Mumbai? Both the cities provide refuge to millions of job seekers who come from different parts of India. Two metros have two different lifestyles, two different cultures. One is cosmopolitan, one is traditional. However, it's upto the individual perception that speaks for the city one is dwelling in.

Come to Delhi, the capital city of India, you will be greeted by 50 plus impressive flyovers. If it still doesn't astound you, get a round of Old Delhi, the true colour of Delhi, with monuments and lanes devoted to special cuisine, will definitely enchant you, while Mumbai's infrastructure is terrible. Stay one year or so, you will truly become a Delhiite known for its Dilliwala style – not paying bus fare, lawlessness, foul mouth…the list is long, what you don't find in Mumbai.

Mumbai -- the first impression it gives: the names of the places – that don't grimace your face, thanks to Bollywood movies and entertainment industry that we have been watching while growing up. You see people religiously maintaining a queue in bus stands which can't be seen in Delhi. Moreover, you feel that there is no "entropy" in day-to-day life activities. Life goes on lying on the windy beaches. Not to forget – a ride in interlink train comes as the testing time for you, to test your endurance and patience.

There are several other comparisons. While Delhi is too cold and too hot, Mumbai is neither cold, nor too hot. While Delhi is totally unsafe for women, Mumbai is believed to be a safe abode of the weaker sex if we neglect few infamous incidents. There are endless topics to be compared such as the terrible traffic of Mumbai, unsafe roads of Delhi or Continuous power supply of Mumbai , power and water crisis of Delhi. Debate will be on, on and on.

But at the end, both the cities are marvelous and lively in their own respect. Both the cities have their own plus and minus. Choosing the city – Delhi or Mumbai lies on what is your perspective towards life, it truly defines you.

Delhi Metro Rail : In and Out

Since its inception the Delhi Metro has become the iconic symbol of the national capital of India. You come to Delhi and you haven’t taken the ride of Delhi metro, than your journey is worthless and incomplete, even if you have watched and clicked for memory photographs of the most sought after tourist destination. Delhi metro is a must, a must destination for anyone. It is a modern day technological marvel, bisecting New Delhi and Old Delhi.

But how marvelous is Delhi metro can be witnessed if one takes a ride at pick hour time -in morning, evening or in festival time. Not only will you get astounded, astonished by the efficiency of the Delhi Metro but you will see true colour of Delhi wala. Delhi walas are well renowned for many known and unknown reasons. For some, Delhi walas are the rudest metropolitan people compared to the people of Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. Again for some, especially for police, the Delhi walas are the most undisciplined people in India. For them traffic rules are there to be broken again and again. Traffic in Delhi is erratic, unpredictable even for those who are born and brought up here.

These were some unexplained perception about Delhi and Delhi walas. Coming to the Delhi Metro scenario, this is one place where one could see CEOs and the cobblers sharing the same institution, irrespective of their economic and social status.

In the peak time the Delhi Metro runs full with seats occupied, commuters symmetrically standing and some occupying the floor of the Metro in the seating position. They give the impression as if they are traveling for many days and their destination is far away. They seemed relax, content, comfortable without any affect of maya of sansarikta. Great!

While there are other commuters sharing the interlinked cabins, seeing them closely give the impression as if they are heading for a war. Eyes vigilant, body attentive, hands in motion, anxiously waiting for the order to open, so that an attack could be carried out. As soon as the doors open at a station, the cool interiors of the Metro within no moment turns violent as people standing at the station tries to get into the Metro. The nicest thing of the situation is that everything goes without any verbal altercation and hard feelings. The armies at the station and others inside the Metro, who are in the eyeball-to-eyeball contact remain silent at the battle front.

Well, if you are thinking to go click spree in the Delhi Metro Station, signboards read photography is banned, but I have seen people freely clicking inside the premises of the Delhi Metro.

What could I say about the place; after all it is Delhi where laws take shape from person to person.

Unravelling Haunting Travel: New Delhi to Gurgoan

Who said while in pain you don't enjoy! It is not true. At least for me I thoroughly enjoy the grueling, painful travel that I undertake daily, 6 days of a week to get to my office. The bone-breaking journey has unraveled many inhibitions, fear that was ingrained deep in me.I mean it has made me a good person. The travel has broken many myths about the place Gurgoan, even broken some unestablished myths about myself that was in my head. It is truly a new avatar at my end.

I laugh on myself like a child when I am successful to get to office before time. The journey that I took as ordeal in the initial days, now after one month I am enjoying it to the fullest, every day is a new day for me. I have discovered the true dichotomy that exists in Delhi in general, and Gurgoan in particular.

In Delhi, where getting into a place is easy, thanks to Metro and fleet of government and privately owned buses. In its neighboring mini Delhi, Gurgoan synonymous of India's growth in real estate and IT, the situation is drastic. Traveling from Delhi to Gurgaon and vice versa, it needs proper planning and execution with a tinge of savvy knowledge that can be learnt only when you are physically present.

And witnessing the dynamics of the commuters on this route is really a fun. How do they attack any cab or car plying on the Delhi-Gurgoan road, National Highway 8? The attraction between commuters and cabs is similar to attraction and repulsion effect between iron and magnet. Though there is no theory that describes the commuters and cabs.

As soon as a cab halts, commuters, all office goers literally attack the driver with a volley of questions - Duala Kuan jayegi, Saket jayegi, Wazirpur jayegi....? And those who gets the cab going to their destination, getting into the cab comes as a struggling moment, since one has to compete with his fellow passengers.

And all this love-hate, success-failure takes place with me on the road of Delhi Gurgoan road. When I am successful, I treat myself with a chilled champagne. It is a moment of success, I celebrate it by taking omlette or boiled eggs with my friend Kushal.

Here is the plan that I undertake very often while going to office. For getting at time in office, I leave home exactly at 8 am and take a bus to Naraina, Ring Road from Inder Puri.

The real journey starts from here. The mode of vehicle determines, how I will reach Gurgoan, the two-third journey to my office. I prefer cab since it takes less time and it is comfortable compared to the bus journey where getting a seat is a distant dream.

As soon as I get down from the bus here in Naraina. My eyes start scanning all the cabs plying on the road automatically, without any external stimuli. God knows which cab turns out to be the one I was searching for!

Most of the time I am successful to get a cab. Drivers had a gaga time earning extra money from us, I came to know, as much as we are dependent on them, they are equally dependent on us. The drivers of the cabs and the commuters like me are both hawk-eyed in the fulfillment of their requirements. They get money and I get a pleasant ride. The ecosystem is built, and it runs smoothly.

The journey from Naraina to IFFCO chowk, Gurgoan cost Rs 15. Traffic is erratic and unpredictable. One can see fleet of bikes in this chill environment of Delhi, swirling here and there in the road struggling to get a space. The scene is beautiful , all happening on the road. Not an inch is left vacant on the road.

While at Toll Gate, which is presently not running. All speeding vehicles gives the impression of the volume of water gushing out from the tunnels of the dam. And seeing ourselves part of this gushing vehicles effect, it is altogether a memorable moment.

And after a pleasant ride which takes more than 45 minutes, I get down at IFFCO Chowk. From there I head towards my next journey which takes place in a rickety auto rickshaw. The auto rickshaw visible here in Gurgoan, I suppose must be shown in the Discovery Channel or Travel TV. I really mean it. An auto rickshaw accommodates 15 people! And it goes to 20 people if situation demands!!

Using the same mode of travel I go to Rajiv Chowk, and there to the place of job. This ritual, which has become part of my life since one month has vanished the fear, the traveling fear about Gurgoan. Now, the thought that Delhi is inaccessible after 4pm doesn't haunt me, doesn't disturb me. I look cool and relax at 8 pm, here, deep inside in Gurgoan, Haryana where offices work 24x7, 365 days of a year.

I suppose in this one month's to-and-fro journey I might have shared with you the same seat in cab or have bitterly struggled with you!

Mithun Chakraborty roles unmatched

The hero remains decent, sober, up-right, straight, honest and very poor [add all positive adjectives] person in the first part of the movie, in contrast in the second part he becomes a don with a million-dollar style statement, later he takes revenge against of all those villains who helped him to increase his status, had been the skeleton concept, perhaps, of all movies in the early 80’s.

And one hero who fits into this bill was, non other than Mithun Chakrabarty, our Mithunda.

We have traversed a long and serpentine road. No [ Kadapi nahin]. The truth is that we have travelled hundreds light years (!!)[distance travelled by light in one year = I light year], in the way we have started seeing our bollywood heroes, the transition of roles they have donned from the early 80’s to the present day.

In the early 80’s, considered to be the heydays of our Mithun Chakrobarty acting career in bollywood, the heroes used to play the role of a street hawker, our neighbouring mechanic in the half part of the movie, and in the second part becoming a millionaire, was the bottomline of all the stories.

And Mithunda’s movies were the perfect example of this transition. It is understood, at the end of the movie, Mithunda assassinates, murders those who have been instrumental in increasing the stature of his cinematic role. That was my idol Mithunda’s movies story plot. And without much involving our mind, mental conscience we used to enjoy the mechanic, hawker [in Disco Dancer] role played by him.

And now suppose, for god sake, if we had to see the present day hero like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar in the role what Mithunda played in his time. What would be 4- Khan’s and Kumar’s reaction? A complete no-no. The same would be the public’s reaction, they will not be able to digest their heroes being shown in the last element of the long economic chain.

It is true; movies are the mirrors of the society. Mithunda’s movies show the persisting society of that time, which had been very much black and white in colour, India was still being under the inspector/ licensee raj, IT non existent, the so-called boom was nowhere in the economy. Consequently, the heroes were either ending up their role as a poor man or son of a super rich father. A case in point, Shah Rukh Khan’s role in his perhaps all movies starting from Deewana where he played the role of love stricken boy, remember his role in Dilwale Dilhaniya Le Jayenger, he played the role of a son of a NRI.

Time has indeed changed, Mithunda’s role cannot be relived and rejuvenated.

Hot n Sexy Rakhi Sawant "back" is back

She is oomph of many, and for some the most funniest celebrity ever visible in the Indian film industry. Yes, she is Rakhi Sawant of bollywood, more so of the tinsel world of television in the recent times. She was visible today again on “Breaking News” item of a television news channel. Reason. Wardrobe malfunction.

The news channel ran the so called wardrobe malfunction news item repeatedly in the prime time. I was laughing on the news channel of running this item. There were, obviously, many reasons for which I was laughing and amusing myself on the often repeated bare back footage of Rakhi Sawant.

First, the program in which sexy Rakhi Sawant along with her boyfriend were dancing was not the LIVE show, so there was no point showing the item in the prime time. The program that we all have watched comes after it had gone under the scissor of a video editor. So, there was no point in showing a program[news]of the edited program. How a program which has been edited can become the news? Only God, and of course, the director of the show knows and has the answer.

Secondly, the show in which the hot and sexy Rakhi Sawant was performing, after the wardrobe malfunction it could have been shoot again. But it was not done! She completed the song as it should have been done. The director of the show did not stop the camera rolling. Obviously, the director wanted the cheap media mileage by trampling upon the respect of a media savvy Rakhi Sawant.

Whatever may be the reason, whether it was pre-meditated, planned act to get media space or it was really a news to their standard, the only fact coming crystal clear was that the news was indeed of bad taste. At the end I could say Rakhi Sawant is the female “Shah Rukh Khan” among the actresses in bollywood.

What Shah Rukh Khan feels of his age?

NEW DELHI,INDIA

Of these 42 years in this world, 18 years have been spent maintaining a super duper successful career in Bollywood.

Shah Rukh Khan says - I feel more stronger and enthusiastic today. In fact, when I play with my kids’ friends, I don’t use age as a criteria to perform less. I still think I can beat kids half my age at half the things I do, physically I mean. Age has become a number for me now. It doesn’t matter that a few more grey strands have come. I always had grey hair which I have been dyeing for the last five years. I feel I am the most looked after person in the world.

He adds - I don’t look at age as a reason for making more intelligent and wiser decisions. I don’t think what I did earlier was wrong and what I do now is right. It’s the wrongest notion that older people are smarter and wiser, I feel they are just older. In the film industry, someday I read I am ruling more, some days less, someday a younger star has toppled me. I think I am beyond all this now. But yes, it’s been 18 years and people say I have been the King of Bollywood, and I like it. I am not pompous but I don’t know how it feels not to be successful. For me, there’s always been one way and that is success. So I don’t know how it’s not to be the King of Bollywood. I feel it’s my birthright now.

And about Chak De India did not make it to the Oscars? He says - I am happy with the Filmfare award. The Oscar is not something that I will cry about. If I get it, good, if not — it’s ok.

Moreover, about his new ab-solute look. He added - I know people have been saying that I got it through special effects, surgery, and steroids, but I know how much hard work I put into this. When I was working out, I thought, I can’t have bigger biceps than Salman, a stronger chest than John or even wider shoulders than Hrithik, so I said why not concentrate on my abs. See, I have a very oriental kind of physique, like Bruce Lee, so I guess it’s standing out

Zubeen Garg went missing in the Jjhoom India

The sensational singer, Zubeen Garg absense in the musical reality show Jjhoom India aired on Indian Television channel Sahara One was unfortunate. His absense not only disappointed his large fan following but has maligned his image, the television image across the nations. Now when television is getting an upper hand in the bollywood, his absence is indeed uncalled for, and it is unexpected.

Though he didn't fair well in the opening show of the programme and had to listen unpleasant things from the judges especially from the ace director and producer Mahesh Bhatt, his absence in the show make us all believe that he is irresponsible not only to the show but to his devoted fan following. He was not there when his team was given a thumping victory for getting the required votes to go for the next round. It is of his large pool of fan factor that made him immune from the elimination round.

He is the pride of Assam and of the north east. Whatever happens with him in the show, it indeed casts its effects on the people of this region. What came as disappointing in the show was that his partner Shama Sikander didn't defend him; moreover she said in front of the camera that he [Zubeen Garg] was not present in the rehearsal, and is still not even present in the show. Don't you think such statement against him in front of the whole nation effects his image? It does effect.

By showing his absense he showed his un-participatory nature to the whole television viewers who were glued to their television set to watch him, and his performance.

NEW DELHI,INDIA

The whole bollywood, perhaps, revolves around the Khan brothers Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and of course Saif Ali Khan. Amongst these unbreakable pillars, if there is one hero who is the most bankable and most sought after is Akshay Kumar a.k.a Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia.

Shah Rukh Khan: From Chak De India to Om Shanti Om

NEW DELHI,INDIA

Yes, Shah Rukh Khan is at its pinnacle of his profession – acting. His movies are blockbusters in the box office. His name makes people to throng the cineplexes. And he has been doing the same from his first movie Deewana, to the recently released movie Chak De India.

In the 90’s Shah Rukh Khan was ruling the roost. Almost all his movies in the 90’s: Deewana, Baazigar, Darr, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Karan Arjun,
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Koyla, Pardes, Dil To Pagal Hai
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Baadshah
– made him the star, an undiminished star of the bollywood. He conquest the bollywood and in the same stroke conquest the overseas market as well, by becoming the most saleable actor.

Who can forget his performance in the movies Baazigar, Darr, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Koyla, Pardes, and Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. These films left an indelible mark in the history of bollywood.

He has cast the same magic in the 2000 year plus. He has got many feathers in his cap, and the latest from his coterie of hit movie is Chak De India, which he thinks helped him to establish his name in the cult status of the bollywood actors and actresses. He himself said he was waiting for such movie to be made.

Coming to the 21st century first decade he has given many hit films from Mohabbatein,
Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Devdas, Chalte Chalte, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Veer-Zaara, Swades, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, Don - The Chase Begins Again,
to Chak De India, released this year. His each movie is skating new heights. And about his forthcoming movie Om Shanti Om, let us see in comparison to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Sawariya, what magic the movie play in the box office and meet the expectation of the critics as well as from his fan followings. It has to be seen.

It is not that his journey to the status that he has gained was achieved in a day or two. Behind this, his innate talent, never-say-die attitude, and of course competition-with-himself has been some factors that has come to play in his success. If you think there are more reasons that made him the Baazigar of the bollywood, do comment.

Who is more handsome: Shah Rukh Khan or Ranbir Kapoor?

NEW DELHI,INDIA

On the same date Shah Rukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om and Ranbir Kapoor’s Sawariya is releasing. The producers and directors have given their best shot to keep it floating in the media. You walk past in the Delhi Metro Stations[in the blog]; you will find advertisements of these movies. You open any website; you will be bombarded with these two movies.

Stakes are high in both the movies. After all one is from Shah Rukh Khan and another is form Sanjay Leela Bansali’s debunte actor Ranbir Kapoor, son of Rishi Kapoor. Shah Rukh Khan’s izzat is on stake after the success of Chak De India! He has to prove that he is not one-movie actor.

And about Ranbir Kapoor, I suppose he is more tensed than the Baazigar. It is his first movie. For him, it is a sail or sink situation.

Many would be thinking, or would have started thinking the future of Ranbir Kapoor, comparing with him with Shah Rukh Khan. Who is more handsome, Shah Rukh Khan or Ranbir Kapoor?

One cannot predict the future of Shah Rukh Khan especially at the time when he is giving one hit after another. He is a great gun of the bollywood. His kingship cannot be challenged at this time.

But the charm in his face is dissolving. He is no more the same cutie Shah Rukh Khan of Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman. In contrast, Ranbir Kapoor has the same cutie looks. He is handsome but comparing him with Dil Wale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge actor is somewhat done in hurry.

Given that he is handsome than the Chak De India coach, it is not necessary that he will run in the bollywood. Since bollywood have seen many actors who were really cutie in look but they were failure. The list is long. Aashiqui boy Rahul Roy, Kumar Gaurav are case in point. Sometimes a good look of an actor or actress is disadvantageous to them.

But there lies an exception to every rule; Aamir Khan is one, who has matured with his baby face to macho look. Who can forget his first movie Qayamat Se Qayamant Tak opposite Juhi Chawla.

Taking without any bias, and putting weigh, let us see whose movie is more handsome than the other in the market and win the applause of the audience. Handsome is as handsome does!

First Chak De India, Second Om Shanti Om

NEW DELHI,INDIA

After Chak De India, where does Shah Rukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om stand?

That’s a big question. Indeed a very tough question to give a satisfactory answer. Shah Rukh Khan’s previous flick Chak De India![in this blog]attained a cult status in the Hindi film industry, a voluminous film industry where thousands of films are released in a year. In this messy film industry the film Chad De India has made a history of its own, moreover Shah Rukh Khan’s history as well. Shah Rukh Khan got what he was craving for in his whole professional career.

Now, his upcoming movie is Om Shanti Om. His fans, not to mention are impatiently waiting for its release. They do have a mountain of expectation from the movie, and from the Shahrukh Khan’s role.

Their expectation can vanish like fog disappears, if they do not see something extra from Shahrukh Khan. It would be tough on the part of the actor to stand to this expectation.

After Koyla, Om Shanti Om would be his next movie which is based on reincarnation formula, but it has a tinge of 70’s time period. So, people would be seeing the colour and texture of this period when Jeetender, Rajesh Khanna and Dev Anand were ruling the film fraternity and the hearts of the youngsters.

If Shah Rukh Khan can sail through the tsunami of emotions of his fans that they expect from him, he can definitely be called Baajigar, the Badshah, Chamatkar, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, and what not. O! He may be called Om!
